Pups who will be shipped remain at QNB Kennels an additional week beyond the normal 7-week pickup date. While transportation is the buyer's responsibility, QNB will gladly arrange to ship your pup. An additional cost is required to cover shipping costs (amount depends on where it is being shipped), dog crate and health certificate. Pups are shipped from Washington Dulles by a major carrier to an airport of your choice.
Shipping cost depends on destination. This can range from $150 to $300.
A dog crate cost will be a airline approved, hard plastic, medium sized crate like the ones sold at Wal-Mart. The crate will cost $60. A large size crate will be used to ship two pups, if two pups are purchased.
A Health Certificate from a veterinarian is required to ship a pup. This costs $35 per pup purchased.
Since such shipping requires close coordination, please plan ahead and call with any questions.
I have shipped pups from Alaska to Finland without any problems. Here are a few suggestions when picking up your pup. Most large airports receive dogs in a designated cargo area. Other airports have a live animal pick up in an area near the baggage claim section. Make sure you know ahead of time where your airports live animal pickup area is located for the airline your new pup is arriving on. Be there well ahead of time so the pup can be picked up ASAP. When you pick up the pup take it to a grassy area for a walk, air and get its bearings. The pup may seen a little unsure at first but with solid ground under its feet it will liven up fast. Have a lead and collar with you so you can walk the pup safely.
We coordinate your pups eating, drinking, airing and airport delivery so the pup can make it to its destination without any accidents. Not often, but once in a while a pup will let lose on its flight. You need to be prepared with paper towels and water to clean the crate and pup when it arrives.
At home the shipping crate can be used as a safe haven for the pup. The pup will be eating Eukanuba Large Puppy food twice a day. Good luck and feel free to call anytime with questions about your pup.
